Main Picture = 640x480 - 16 Colours (4 Bit)
Progress Bar = 22x9 - 16 Colours (4 Bit)

Both palettes must be exactly the same, (Svae palette from main pic - Load into Progress Bar)

Use and alter the .INI file from an existing BootSkin

There have been a number of threads on this, I think you should look them up. But probably the easiest answer would simply be to tell you to look in the directory that holds the bootskin program - there is a text file that lets you know all that need to make one.

There are now over twenty Bootskins threads on this messageboard and more on the WC Help messageboard. The bootskins app also has a readme text. Read it and then browse through the other bootskin threads here for more info.

Strangest thing is....there's only 2 images and one ini file and even with the text instructions people are stumped as to how it works.

/me thinks there is a dumbing-down of modern society....or laziness.....or both.....

Yeah why bother actually reading the "read me" when there's an internet full of people just waiting for your question to be posted so they can give you personalized assistance and one on one tutorials?

(Although of course on a messageboard you actually have to read the text too.....seems to me it'd take much less time and effort to RTFM. )

I read the F manual and I am still confused. The readme.txt did not explain much. Just left me confused.

If I knew how, I would make a bootskin.

Take one 640x480 image....

Reduce it to 4bit 16 colours....

Copy an existing ini file....

edit it in notepad to have the nnew image name....

New author details....

Zip them....

rename 'zip' extension to 'bootskin'....

Done.

Progress bar needs one more image....same 16 colour palette, and a location in the ini for where it is and how wide it progresses.

End of story.

Well there are bootskin threads up the whazoo here and on the Help board and some of them even include assistance on how to make them. Start reading if you're interested. Post (preferably in a preexisting thread) on the help board if you still have questions after that.
