Altering start button

Does anyone have a good prog or link to show how to alter the "start" to whatever else you want to put there.

I went to one site and did what they said to the letter and the result was over a day of not being able to reboot lol.

Generally the word "Start" is part of the graphic for the button

If you don't use windowblinds or stylexp you can change the wording, but you might as well use windowblinds and change the whole button

ok, the windowblinds idea is it customizable to make it so I can change the word start or is it preset to where i have to accept different colors etc?

With windowblinds you can change the button to whatever look or color you want.

In fact, I'm finishing a theme that has no lettering there at all. Just one big (oops can't give it away). lol.

I just dld windowblinds but don't see a tutorial on how to change the start button and am afraid of messing things up. Can anyone offer me an idea on where to start.

I am betting that many windowblinds use a bitmap with words already in it or a png, because that would use less memory then having words put ontop of a bitmap. But I haven't really looked that closely in skinstudio at too many start buttons.
