User Status...

I know this topic is generally covered in the FAQ [etc] section of this site, which I've read numerous times, but I still feel the need, in case times have changed [and so on] to ask:

What exactly should a citizen [like myself] do to acquire a higher status? Apart from contributing to the site throughout the many libraries of art and forums......
I guess what I mean is - How can a person, like myself, let others know of my interest in "promotion"? Not promotion for ANY OTHER reason EXCEPT for a chance to [for one] vote and rank submissions. I see lately there are many people who vote unfairly, based on personal biases, opinions, or worse yet: petty battles amongst others who would rather get their point across by giving great wallpapers poor votes. It's just unfair. If you need proof of my dedication, just open the many many many windows and wallpapers I've commented on and look for a hostile or "unfair" response to someone's submission. "Tact" is something perhaps some overlook when commenting on and voting on a submission. [in my experience anyhow]

My point? Just try not to overlook the wall-flower over here.. heh...

Love the site, Going to love the subscription even more

Take care all, Spyderbyte [Dan]

Well, I dont think 'asking' for a promo (See, Im a good boy...look at what I did!) is gonna get you one... And generally the admins *will* notice and promote you when they see fit.

Helping out on the message boards is one way to help you status along...Look at IPlural, hes a journeyman, and hasnt submitted a single thing. (He also helps on the boards...A LOT)

Also, it does make a big difference what kind of things you submit... Like, 2 Windowblinds is better than 2 cursors is better than 2 wallpapers is better than 2 screenshots...

... Well, wasn't intending to do the "good boy" thing.. I just wanted to inform others [who know this name, etc] that my efforts are more than idle.

I just know others who joined around the same time as me, who have been promoted a couple times, with less effort than myself, so was just curious how the whole promotion thing works

- Thanks for the info though! - Much appreciated.

continue to contribute comments on a fair basis, with constructive criticism where you think needed.

Be a positive part of the message board, help others with things you know how to help with, even if it seems as mundane as how do I change my icons...

I've been a bit off in the board for a bit now, but I can tell you from experience, helping others and being a positive part of the community does in the end impact your status...

Either positively or negatively as direction reflection to your participation.

If you don't upload, then you need to help people on the messageboard and comment on their works.(constructivly) Also don't change your NICK as it will make it hard for the admins to get to know you and promote you.

Judging by your work submited and the support you have extended via comments, I guess it's only a matter of time before your status changes.
BTW. I noticed you are now a Apprentice
