Shortcut icons text in Start11

I used Start11 before and the icons had the text of the app below the app icons like this.


I did a reinstall of Windows 11, installed Start11, but now my icons do not have the text below the apps like this.


How do I get the text under the icons back?

Hi Basj,

I tried "Hide caption" on several icons and nothing changed. I'd really like to figure this out. Thanks for the help.

No, i mean, un-hide/un-tick it. Does that help?

They were already unticked. I tried both ways, but they were all unticked.

Try this, uninstall Start11, reboot immediately after (important). Download the latest version again, reboot and retest it. Report back.

The issue is your icons are all set to small size.  You need to make them medium, wide or large from the resize menu.

I've tried that. Resizing them was the first thing I did. Do you continue to think I need to reinstall Start11?

The setting should not be change for uninstall. Unless you choose the "Remove Settings" option while uninstalling. Just to be sure you can use this guide to backup your setting. https://forums.stardock.com/505872/start11-support-faq#backUpSettings.

This is the "Absurd" size - the largest Start11 has. It doesn't have text. I've tried every size. Thanks for helping me with this. Please let me know if you think reinstalling Start11 will help. If so, will I need to reinstall all my shortcut icons, or would trying to reinstall the shortcuts just put it back to this problem?

Since I am not actually sure what happened in your system. I can not be sure if reinstall might help or not. But uninstall, reboot immediately and reinstall did help lots of other random issue on others users system. Its been suggested by Dev, Support and myself lots of time in Stardock Support forum posts.

I think you are altering the wrong size setting.

Your icons all look to be set to 'Small' tile mode size.  Right click on one, pick Resize and see what is picked.

Reinstall did the trick. I don't know what happened with the first install and don't know what I did differently, but I have what I want now. Thanks for your help.
