Start Up problem

Ok, my computer freaked out when I was trying to customize a theme in DesktopX. It was working well, then for some reason everything locked up. I restarted the computer and a message asked me if I wanted to continue loading a theme that may cause problems or begin with a general theme with nothing basically. At first, I had it go ahead and load it...uh uh, didn't like that and froze up, then most of the system resources were used into DesktopX (more than 90%) and never did anything. Then I loaded an "empty" theme and applied the one I was working on, freaked out again. So, I'm back to a theme I liked before and am afraid to load the one I really want. Anyone have this problem? And if so, what is going on and what can I do to avoid this? Thanks to all.

What version of DesktopX ? what theme do You try to load ? What's Your operating system ?

Also what is the size of your CPU? How much Ram have you got installed and do you have a graphics card?

I had that problem and this is what I did. I deleted the theme that caused the problem. Removed it from the desktopX folder where it resides. Then, I deleted the blank theme. Make sure DesktopX isn't running. Then, I reinstalled the theme that caused the problem. I found the problem and I did the modification correctly. Remember what modification you did that caused the lock up. Maybe you did something wrong. You may repeat it, and follow the above steps to fix it again. It maybe a problem with resources as stated above. Or it maybe that your modification corrupted the theme, or it used all your resources, because they had gotten low, and locked the computer. Or it maybe that you computer doesn't have enough resources: I.E. CPU speed, Ram, too many other programs loaded, spyware running, etc... The more you do these modifications, the more meory will be consumed. Maybe, it would be best to do the modifications up until the modification that crashed the computer. Then, restart the computer to refresh the memory and try the other modification. If it isn't a corrupting modification, maybe it used all your resources when they were low already. A restart should fix temporary low resources. Basically, it's just trial and error, troubleshooting.

Thanks to all for thinking about this. I have decided to scrap that theme and use another that is similar and customize it to my liking. I think it was probably a script error that freaked it out.
