ANYbody trying to capture a criminal is SUPPOSSED to use the help of the community. If the Americans really plan to help the Iraqies, they will need the help of the community to do it.

Not out of character for this type of 'personality' (as I understand it) is the apparant lack of resistance to capture and no attempt at taking his own life.
This is not an acceptance of his fate, more a delusion that nothing will happen to him.
It would be nice to simply regard him as a gutless bastard who lacked the fortitude to deny the enemy the satisfaction of taking him alive, but it isn't in the make-up of the man.
No term in the slammer would be of value, and you can only kill an individual once .... I think the Iraqui's have the right to run him through their legal system and execute him in their own fashion.

Now that Saddam is captured, the liberals will stop beating the "we don't have Saddam" drum and start beating on the "we don't have Osama" drum. They will also find all kinds of crazy complaints to make about Saddam's capture. Liberals just don't know when to admit they are wrong.

The more that we learn about Iraq and Al Qaeda, the deeper the connection runs. Certainly an ally has been eliminated and a hiding place made less secure.

Actually, the more we learn, the more we know that they did not have the connection that you, Bush, and most other Republicans are hoping for.

The CIA has been complaining for a long time that they were ordered to shift most of their assets from finding OBL to finding Saddam. I think that finding a man that killed over 4,000 Americans should be more important than finding someone the Republican National Party has held a grudge match with for over a decade.

Where do you think we should shift our focus? More troops in Afganistan? Iran? Syria?

I fully supported going to war in Afghanistan, OBL attacked us. Iraq/Saddam did not attack us, and so I did not and do not support that war. If you're one of the people claiming we were right in invading on moral grounds, then do you support the logical conclusion that we should invade over 60% of the rest of the world as well on the same grounds?

Sorry, but I'm not a war loving Republican. I used to be a Republican until I saw how Bush was more concerned with using the 9/11 attacks for personal gain, as an excuse to gift special interests with what they've been requesting for close to a decade, and to press his personal grudge match against Saddam.

FYI, I'm not a Democrat either, they're too soft and timid for my liking, though I find them better than the Republicans. Also, my opinions on Republicans and Democrats almost entirely apply only to the national level, at the state and local levels I've found the Republicans to be pretty good.

To a non-American...the most notable or noteworthy thing Bush ever did as President was turning up in Iraq for the troop's Thanksgiving.....maybe it was a PR stunt....but even if so I am certain there were a bunch of Yankee soldiers over there who really appreciated the gesture...and I'm sure the Coalition forces in general liked it too.
