User from China reported a severe bug.

Please forgive me for any incorrect posts I may have made as the translation software I used was extremely poor, to the point that I couldn’t understand many options and couldn’t see them at all.

I randomly downloaded version 1.44 of Start11 from a Chinese website and then, out of nowhere, a small icon appeared on the left side of the taskbar which opened the W7 start menu and caused the taskbar to periodically turn black and windows to occasionally shift and become unresponsive. So I found the official English website and used the terrible translation software to search for a solution, but even after following the instructions, the problem persisted. That annoying W7 start menu button and constantly blackening taskbar were especially frustrating.

I thought that I needed a small script that could restore all the registry changes made by Start11 and revert everything back to its original state, which would hopefully solve the problem. Perhaps such a script already exists on a forum somewhere, but I’m sorry, my translation software was just too terrible!

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I believe, you might have downloaded a pirated version of Start11. From what I know, Start11 can only be downloaded from two places. One, via Stardock direct itself and second from Steam. So, not really sure if your first install have causing something wrong with your system. What you can try, but not guarantee to work, is doing the purge first. Steps mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/505872/start11-support-faq#reinstalling. Do the purge and reboot. Retest if everything is back to normal. If yes, than proceed to install Start11 download directly from Stardock.com.

Thanks
