Issue with reactivation of Fence 3 on new HW

Hello,

 

I just changed part of my HW (MB,RAM,CPU,Disk) and reinstalled windows. But Fence3 is no more activating.

Error code "-212". I gathered back the key via my email and the support tool to get back keys...

Anything else I should try?

Thank you Basj,

I just tried that but no luck, I also tried to put this to the minimum but same error 212.

I am on Win11 if that change something.

I have seen the CLI activation option, but the link is broken.

I believe it best to move on to Fences 4 if you on Windows 11.

Hello,

I did pay for Fence3 and it worked fine on win11 since more than a year. Unless I receive a free upgrade to Fence4, I have no reason to change my Fence3.

What can be my next steps to make it works?

Please use this guide and see if you have not reach maximum activation. If you do, deactivate those old activation and retry the activation again. To check and manage activation use this guide: https://forums.stardock.com/486311/accounts-and-activation-support-faq#reviewactivations

Hello Basj,

Just tried that, I did removed all other activations in the past (it was just 3/5).

I tried again to activate my licence, I see it poping on the activation portal but on my PC I still have the error "-212" while I am correctly connected to Internet (as I can see the licences on the activation portal).

I also tried to disconnect from Internet, does the offline activation, getting the .req file, uploading it to internet and get back the resp file. But it tells me that the resp file does not contains valid licence for my device...

Any other ideas?

Hello Basj,

Yes I did that already, my email is recognized and I receive via email the same KEY that I try to put on the activator.

I can see my key in my account, everything looks good. It just doesn't work and give the -212 error code when I try to activate it.

Please raise support ticket using the link below, use "ask a question" option. Include all information details. Remember to record down the ticket number for future reference if needed. Do not raise multiple ticket, that will make your ticket back to the end of the line. Send once and wait. Ticket will be answer by the order they send in.
