is the 5-install version for $40 an annul subscription?

https://www.stardock.com/products/fences/#purchase

is that an annual subscription price?  The details say "1 year of support and upgrades" which would normally mean the program can be used indefinitely but support and upgrades are only available during the first year.

But the description under the price says "1 year subscription" which usually men's the program becomes inoperable after one yer if not renewed.

Now I'm more confused - I have purchased 3 and 5 install versions of fences 3 and groupy 2, and one additional install version of fences 3.  when I click on the "check upgrade eligibility" it tells me I can replace all of them with a 1-year subscription to Object desktop at an annual price of $30.  That sounds great - but is it for 5 installs of object desktop or just one?  if it is for just one install, then I'd be better off with the 5-install $40 package even if it is an annual subscription.

- ok that linked solved the issue - I had to decipher the classic version vs new version but now I understand it - thanks for the link

well...that was a disaster.  I purchased the upgrade for object desktop.  Followed the "purge" instructions for fences 3.  Then tried to install object desktop which popped up a dialog asking me for a fences 3 license number.  So I uninstalled fences 3 , and then uninstalled object desktop (using revo uninstaller.  Then rebooted - my entire desktop is gone - not one icon.  So then I tried to reinstall object desktop.  It wants a product key.  I checked the email receipts - no product key in any of them.  I go yo my online stardock account and find the product key for the just purchased object desktop...but when I enter it I get a red box popup informing me that the product key is not a valid object desktop product key.  WTF!  And I notice that it started "stand alone object desktop subscription" does that mean it is only one install not 5?

Thank you for the email support link.  I sent a ticket with my question about whether the update is for 5 installs or just one.  It seems like a rather simple question that only requires that someone from stardock to post "yes" or "no".

I eventually found the license - it was not what appeared to be the license number that was first posted on my account.  But the later posted license did work, so all that is left to know is whether that one license is good for five installs.

As it happens, Fences is not included in Object Desktop.  It's a separate app, sold separately, so good you located your license key.

End of Daiwa's quote

That is not a correct statement, Fences is included in Object Desktop
