I posted a response to a picture, but it realysort of pertains to ANYONE who is guilty of this.....

there's the link to my comment. I feel I should also say that with people always putting the ACTUAL size as the "pewview" image, the users who do not subscribe can get away with more downloads of wallpapers, simply by right clicking the picture. Am I right? or? [I guess what I mean is, if everyone has 800x600 or smaller in the preview, it would force people to subscribe etc..am I mistaken or?]

- just a thought...

WHO doesn't know how to right-click a picture to save it?

- I imagine most of the people who come here [for graphics to save to their PC] KNOW how to save a picture.... Did YOU go to a premium wallpaper/custimization site the day you FIRST went online? hehe - me neither.

Besides..... Before I subscribed, I never downloaded wallpapers, since most just put the preferred resolution in the preview. I reached my 50MB mostly on windowblinds and other items here.... I doubt I'm the only one who does that.......

goodmorphing: hence my Title...hehe.... I wasn't sure. Before someone thinks I'm trying to condone that behavior [downloading the preview..] I must insist that it's not the case here. I'm thinking about the artists who lose download counts, the servers who get leeched more by users who don't have to rack up 50MB [if their primary download/interest is wallpapers..] by downloading. I just thin kit needs to stop ie: deny any wallpaper that doesn't have a smaller than actual size preview pic. *shrugs*...No ill intentions here.

SpyderbyteGraphX - Those who didn't know how to do it now know and those that do know will do it anyway (one can do it anywhere on the net as long as quality isn't an issue). It simply is not an issue here.

I have to agree with spyder on this one.
With non-subscribers only having so much to download, right click keeps them coming back.

Solution:

Void the preview all together.
Thumbnail gives enough detail to if you want to download it or not.

I haven't read this thread word for word, but I have to agree, anyone who doesn't know about right clicking or just draggin to desktop is computer illiterate to the n'th degree, I refuse to believe you all didn't know about it. (and no offense to someone who didn't know) Even mac people know how to right click and set as wallpaper or save, and they don't even have a right moust button, but I do think that this is basically a "no biggy" subject

Well, my only issue is that the artists [and the site, actually] gets inaccurate download counts if a person merely saves from a preview pic... I just would rather proper recognition to the artists.

I mean who doesn't know that a coputer comes with a cup holder that comes out at the press of a button?

hm, who, of people who come here, [even the first time] don't know how to do that? I bet that users who come here for the windowblinds/object dock files have dabbled in downloading wallpapers, somewhere, at some time.. [ie: digitalblasphemy.com] where you need to [as least now] right click the picture to save it to your HD. [lol, I'm not meaning to drag this on and on..hehe] I'll shut up now

It's just not easily believed by me that people across the world almost assuredly have at least 2 buttons on there mouse and never ventured to go, "Gee, wonder what that right one does." they teach this stuff in as early as middle school, and doubtfully only in the U.S.

This should not be a debate or even a Who knows and don't know issue, however the fact that many un-subscribers can come in and download, leave without any support to the site.
From what I understand, Wallpapers Section seems to be very popular here, just think of all the people that come in and snag. (guilty myself,to other sites)

With all the ranting and raving going on lately, (which is why non-subscribers are at a limit anyways) Spyder is just trying to help with the issue. Again, I agree 100%
