Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I cannot reproduce your issue on my system. Maybe I have different version than your Outlook. Below is my system screenshot. The new email groupy tab correctly combine upon open. But, I am not sure on mine its "olk.exe" instead of "outlook.exe".

I, however, have forwarded your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Thanks

Hello, any changes about that issue?

I can't use Groupy 2.1, with Groupy 1,6 or something it all works...

Has this issue been resolved? I have Groupy 2.12 and I've been experiencing the exact same problem as OP with Outlook - a new email will open in separate window. I also have a problem with Excel where opening a new document opens in separate window.  Word, Powerpoint and my non-Office applications group fine. The odd thing is that Outlook and Excel doesn't fail to group all the time. It's more like 80% of time. I'm running Windows 10. I've tried running groupyPurge.bat and reinstalling to no avail. I'm also experiencing the same problem on both my desktop and laptop.

Excel:

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Can you post a video for Outlook too.

I tested on my system, but, I can not reproduce your issue on my system. On your it look like the second one open in the group but the 3rd and 4th don't. Any different between those files?

Thanks

Hello Basj,

The Excel files are all the same for testing purposes. Most of the time if I open another Excel workbook, it will open in new window. I just got lucky with it opening in a new tab in video posted. It is seemingly random with it open in new window more often than in new tab.

However, I discovered today how to get new Excel and Outlook documents to always open in new tab. Below is a video of the behavior of Outlook and my "fix." Close all instances of Outlook. Open Outlook without repositioning (moving) the Outlook window and click New Mail. It opens in new window for me. However, if I now go to the main Outlook window and reposition it and then click New Mail, it'll now open in a tab. And as I said, this "fix" also works with Excel. It behaves like this on both my desktop and laptop.

On Excel, there used to have option to disable hardware Acceleration setting which resolved grouping issue. But Microsoft removed it and now you will need a rather different steps: Please refer here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/excel-disable-hardware-acceleration-setting/9568518c-0e48-4d8a-914e-352cce3dc449?page=2
