Always show Unhidden icons instead of auto hiding

I have the latest Stardock Start11. How do I "unhide" the hidden icons so I don't have to tell Dragon NaturallySpeaking to go to the up arrow every time I want to see if my sticky keys is still on? I am paralyzed from the neck down and always need to see what's going on in that area.

Please advise

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system. Need to know your Windows 10/11 full version number. Use Microsoft Winver.exe to get those. And which hidden icons are you referring to? Taskbar Tray area? Please clarify.

Thanks

I don't know about Windows 10 but if you're on windows 11 go into settings->Personalization->Taskbar

Scroll down to and open "Other system tray icons".

Once there locate the icon you want (in my example it's VLC)

The turn the switch from off to on.

This will remove the icon from the overflow menu and always show that icon (well unless you close the associated program of course)

I am running Version 22H2 (OS Build 22621. 2134) Windows 11 Pro. Bottom right corner traditional looking Windows taskbar. Right next to the clock on the right bottom. There are four icons showing to the left of the clock. Safely Remove Hardware, Wi-Fi, Speakers icon, and the battery power icon.

Have you tried my earlier post? That should solve the problem. It's a Windows 11 thing not a Start11 thing.

I figured it out! I clicked on the arrow to expose all of the overflowed icons and I dragged out and dropped the ones that I always want shown. I tried your route and unfortunately "Sticky Keys" does not appear in that list with the buttons you toggle on and off. Thank you everyone for your input and suggestions!

I see. I would assume any icon would appear in the list as it typically does if it was in the tray at least once. However glad you got it working for you.

Never in my life with Windows has the occasion arisen where I was unable to manipulate the taskbar and get rid of the arrow that indicates there are hidden icons. The up arrow is still there so I guess what I need to do is drag out the ones I need to see at all times and turn off the others.

Thank you to those of you who responded!

Have a nice day and may God bless you all!
