object dock size

Hi all, question that came to my mind after trying the thingie: would it be possible to create the object dock itself so that it can be resized to take the full lenght of the screen as the windows taskbar does? And have the icon size independent of the size of the dock?

In my oppinion I dont think it would look good. Keep in mind that the size of OD bar adjust it self to the amount of icons that the user puts on it. It also expands and contrasts according to the size of magnification set by the user on the icons.
Making the bar sit at the lenght of the screen will 'kill' it's appeal

you could stick in a few blank icons at the ends and it would fill the screen from edge to edge.

yup, just need to make a single completely translucent .png and slap them in there.

There have been a few times I actually drew the dock background onto my wallpaper and made the actual dock background invisible so it fooled the eye.

depends what size you make it a friend of mine likes it where it doesn't enlarge over rollover at all, so it'd work out well for him

I don't have mine set for magnification either, but the more icons and seperators you add the smaller the icons get. The mac icon size changes dependent upon the number of icons and the screen size. Thats all.

oh yeah, gotcha, I only have about 12 icons, so it doesn't change on me any, (thank god for the kk menu)
