I worked with a guy who was on the Forrestal in 1967 when it caught fire. He had a lot of stories about ghosts and stuff. The one thing that stuck out was him describing the guys that got burned, killed and the fear afterwards....

John McCain was on it, actually he was in his A-4 SkyHawk fully loaded and waiting to take off for a bombing mission over North Vietnam when the first explosion went off. He also is the pilot who is seen jumping from his burning jet and running out of the flames with a bunch of other guys when another bomb went off and blew everyone face first on the deck, bunch of them trying to put the fires out at that end of the deck never had a chance, but Firemen on ship have no choice at all, do it now and worry about being dead later...
