What is the best Program to create Cursors?

First, I would of put this in the Skinning section but I'm not sure how often people check it out.

I just want to know what everybody uses to make cursors so I may check them out and see which one I prefer to use. Concidering that I can't get imageready to work on Photoshop. Having major issues with the animation on there.

If people could add their program to the list and any other comments I would appreciate it.

The reason I'm asking is because I have several designs on paper for a couple cursor sets and I feel that I haven't posted anything new in a while so I need to get back into things and why not something new.

Thanks.

I assume from your comment, you have Photoshop. You don't need anything else really. I prefer PSP 8, but that's just me. Everyone has their preference. Any image editor that handles PNG, is all that's needed for CursorXP (you are talking about CursorXP aren't you?) The best program is the one you like.

Only problem is that I can't find the program I usually make for .gif files. But I think that's all it creates. I did check out the tutorial thing on stardock about cursors. But it mostly talks about how to use their program

Depends on what kind of animation...

https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=25&SkinID=756 turned out great in PS, but for extremely 3D looking stuff, I dunno what to use.

D-load and convert the .CursorXPtheme to a .zip to see the .PNG's inside.

Gif won't work with CursorXP..... PNG, and BMP

Where animations are required, all you need to do is to place all the frames of the animation horizontally next to each other from left to right.

I use animation shop in PSP7. I also do a lot of the animation just in PSP through filters and movement of the image.

I use fireworks for all of my cursors since it natively exports .pngs. I really like the stuff I can do with fireworks, and the easy exporting to Flash etc. Good luck Weaksid.
