Feature Request for Enhanced Layout Customization in Windows 11 Style Start Menus

Dear Stardock Team,

I am writing to suggest a feature enhancement for the new Windows 11 style start menus offered in your software. My idea revolves around improving the customization flexibility of the start menu layout.

Feature Request: Customizable Columns in Start Menu

Objective: To enable the creation of columns in the start menu, in addition to the existing row layout.

Functionality: This feature would allow users to place two groups of icons or tiles beside each other horizontally, rather than being limited to a vertical (above/below) arrangement.

Benefit: This enhancement would greatly increase the personalization options for users, allowing for a more efficient and visually appealing start menu layout. It caters to those who prefer a side-by-side organizational scheme for their applications and tools.

I believe that this feature would significantly enhance the user experience by providing additional flexibility in customizing the start menu to suit individual preferences and workflows.

I am eager to hear your thoughts on this suggestion and would be delighted to provide further input or clarification if needed.

Thank you for considering my request.

Kind regards

You can accomplish this with the Windows 10 style, which allows you to set the Group widths. You can make it look pretty much like the Windows 11 style using the Advanced options. Turn off "Show app list in start menu," and turn on "Use Windows 11 menu style icons."

Set the Group widths to say 6 small icons. Now set up a few of your groups, then grab the right side of the menu and drag until a group jumps over to the right side. You now have one menu with two columns of groups, 6 small icons wide.
