Start menu and taskbar wtf??

Ive alwasy come across these CRAZY and WILD looking editors for windows, all flashy and crazy. Im looking for some simple changes in the start menu and task bar. Possibly a way to modify the taskbar so my minimized windows take up very little room down there, or possibly editing the start menu. Ive used resources hackers to edit explorer.exe but its still really buggy, never comes out right. If anyone "has completed this task of editing the startmenu to there fullest satisfaction or the task bar as i stated above"....plz tell or throw me helping hand. THanks

there are programs that minimize your windows to the systray. don't know where one is though, but I know they exist.

Check the desktop image in my profile......... on the top left, you'll see 4 shortcuts, and then my running tasks which take up very little room. That's HoverDesk.
