No video/animation with recent Windows Update

Windows 11 Insider updated 2/9/2024

I was using DeskScapes v8 and when Windows updated on the 9th, it stopped working. The animated backgrounds were black.

I installed the latest version (11) yesterday.

A little better...the animations/videos display...but, as a static image.

What can I check/change?

I am running the latest DeskScapes v11...how do I get the beta/Canary?

1. Uninstalled DeskScapes 11

2. Ran the cleanup batch file your team provided in other posts

3. Rebooted

4. exited Object Desktop from system tray

5. started object desktop with (run as administrator)

6. Installed DeskScapes 11 Beta from OD

Results:

1. desktop and toolbar immediately went pitch black as soon as I went to the desktop after the installation was completed

2. As before the beta build not only didn't fix animated backgrounds but still backgrounds also stopped working.

3. I had previously installed beta 11.01 and under the settings button there was an option to disable DeskScapes which is gone now.

 

 

 

Running Latest beta/insider of DeskScapes 11.01, Fences 5.05, Start 11V2 2.07 on OD 4.04 (4.4.8809.17031).

on Windows 11 Pro 24H2 26085.1 ge_release Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.1.0

With K-Lite Mega 18.20

Unfortunately we will not be making further changes for now as this only impacts insider builds which we do not offer any support for.

It is not known if those changes will even ever make it to a release version of Windows or when they might or if further changes might happen.

I would recommend using the release versions of Windows.

I am running Windows 11 Home, v 24H2, build 26100.1 and have installed DeskScapes 11 via DeskScapes11_setup_sd.exe and then (after uninstall/reboot) DeskScapes_11.0.1.0-j146-Setup_sd.exe, and neither work.

Tested the beta version after uninstalling and restarting the machine. I also ran the Shampoo system cleaner. After this I installed the beta of DeskScapes 11, but it didn't help much! same problem with film and animations. It only appears slightly at the top of the screen. So you can only use static backgrounds. When will this be fixed?

You see the pictures of my desktop, its only top video on the screen! I don't have that problem in deskscapes 8. And no, the beta doesn't make it better. All movies and animations come up with the same result.deskschapes 11 problem

Im running the dev insider build 26120.461 which is the ge_release. when I run deskscapes 11.01 the screen goes black then another window opens file explorer and sometimes an active window with the animated background

ok I uninstalled the beta and installed the released version the animation is very slow even though i set the speed to a highest it goes still slow then but the background worked as it was supposed to, but once i reinstalled the beta as a experiment i restarted my computer the background remained black but this time the animation was opened in a active movie window with the animation working as it supposed to there is a serious bug with the release application and the beta application. when i use another application that does the same thing as deskscapes it works fine.

Thank you i thought there would be a updated beta, i already voiced my complaint with the insider program and submitted a bug they are looking into it the build that im on is the final dev build which is moving to the beta then release preview. fingers crossed that once you release a new beta build or final release things will work.

FINALLY! whatever you guys fixed everything is working great. Deskscapes 11.02 beta WORKS!!! So excited reference I'm on Windows Insider build 26120.751
