Lightstar's a skinner (msstyles). So it wouldn't be unlikely that he may have gotten permission from others to distribute their work with his skins. Evidently now he's associated with (or perhaps is behind, given the "star" theme of the various products) a new product of the StyleXP type. Hmnn....

Hey Z, you forgot a couple of steps...

1.) Hack the MS shell dll. 2.) Sell it.


3. Add the same features as your competition.
4. Decide theirs is better anyway, so add their content or the ability to steal it, as a feature to your hack.
5. Sue them for not letting you steal their content.

I have more respect for Rocket Division then TGTsoft. at least rocket vision has other programs that don't appear to be rips...although I have never heard of the company before.

No offence TtC, but is it better if someone (asks) to steal your car, than if they just took it.

I wonder too...

I still don't see how businesses can stay in business by selling hacks which can be found easily for free. I hope in longhorn or an update to xp will make these hacks obsolete. Windowblinds will stay around because it can do more then microsoft's skinning engine. Its not like it would be hard for microsoft to just change the uitheme.dll file like the hacked ones are.

hopefully (well maybe not depending on who you are) microsoft will incorporate native skinning so the lil' kiddies can again make their lil' skins. If stardock was the only cowboy in town he might get lazy and the bad guys will come roaming in and who will be there to defend us A little competition between companies is a good thing...it keeps the updates and improvements coming.
