I thought you were to fix Microsoft's shortcomings, not emulate them.

If that button on the about page upsets you it can be hidden.

Open regedit, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Start8\Start8.ini\Start8

Create a new String value called "HideV2Btn" and give it a value of "1" and then reopen the config.

Interestingly enough, I don't see that ad in my version of start11....Version 1.47.  Haven't updated it recently because I'm content with how it already is.

It was added to 1.5 to let people know about v2 as a lot of people apparently didn't know about it.  1.5 also contains a number of fixes for things found during the v2 development.
