If you OWN a copy of any MS OS from Win98 to Win2000, even if it is only an upgrade copy, you can purchase the WinXP Home Upgrade version for around $100 (whatever that converts to in Pounds).

You get Windows XP Pro System Builder (No Handbook / Box) for 99 Euro here. No big deal... Other than that, goto #33...
You cannot expect help for a warez version of windows here.

Kona, I do understand where you're coming from on the legality of it all. I know I could have bought it, yes. But as said above, it's a lot of money for something is just as easily gained via a crack.

Here in the states XP is only 99 bucks for the upgrade version, and not much more for the full blown version. Check Ebay. you be surprised how cheap XP can be on ebay.

As for your problem, I know how to fix it but it would be to hard for me to put in words here as I am not good at describing things.

You spent what £1000, that's like what $2000 USDollars or so and you can't afford to buy an OS. Go somewhere else for help. Go cry to your parents or something. The rest of us folks work for a living, have families to feed, have morals and pay for what we use.

CerealKiller, you've hit the point of diminishing returns pretty much head on, so I wouldn't expect any support with you problem here...

You might want to check the net to find out what you need to do, personally I would suggest either rolling back to your purchased OS product and upgrading or skipping the roll back and buying the OS outright, but thats just my opinion.

Luck with it I would think, but I would also suggest boning up on what is considered acceptable practice upon any site you might seek help on... It is generally found in the text you are supposed to read before making use of a site or their message boards...
