Save Internet Shortcut (URL) to Specific Fence

Can someone explain how to make a rule to get an internet shortcut (URL) to go to a specific fence. I tried using .URL and they go to the Fence, but a security warning window pops up asking me if I want to open it. I just want it to open without the security windows popping up. Not sure what I am doing wrong. The links do open after I click Open on the security window, but I just want one click to open.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Here how I setup my rules to send any url to specific Fences.

  1. Open up Fences 5 configuration windows.
  2. Click on "Rules" tab.
  3. On "Type-based rules"-> tick on "Web Links go to" if it was never setup it should open up list of all Fences name->Pick one.
  4. Once that Done. I just need to start adding URL to desktop.
  5. On my Firefox I just need to drag and drop that padlock icon next to the web address onto desktop. Other browser might be different. Those URL should automatically be added to that Fence you setup above.
  6. Once that is done. I can double click that link and on my system it open up that web page without any security Windows popping up.

Thank you.

Thanks for the feedback. I figured out that the problem was that the links were copied from my old computer. I had to Unblock them in the General Properties tab. Most of them work now...
