Task Bar preview images on wrong side of Task Bar

Start 11 2.08

This problem began with Windows 11 Insider 23H2 (22635.3858)

Currently I am using Version 23H2 COS Build 22635.4000)

Start 11 v. 2.08

Intel I7-11700k, Nvidia RTX3080, 32G Ram

I use the LEFT START BUTTON and CENTERED ALIGNED TASKBAR BUTTONS (start button settings)

When hovering mouse over icons (in center), the preview images are appearing on the LEFT side of the taskbar instead of being aligned with the icon that I am hovering over.  Can't navigate to the preview images because moving from the icon that I am hovering loses focus immediately.  If I have several Word files open, the only option is to Alt-Tab to choose the correct file instead of choosing from the icons hover images

I have uninstalled and re-installed start11 and tried disabling any resident programs individually with no effect.  I don't believe that any of my startup programs would affect the Taskbar but they are

Malwarebytes Antivirus. ProtonMail Bridge, Internet Download Manager, NZXT Cam (AIO Cooler interface), icloud, Roboform, Zerotier for security camera access, Faststone Capture, UPSilon UPS power supply interface, symenu, Twinkle Tray (Microsoft) and Kerish PC Doctor

Everything was working fine until a couple of weeks ago.  If I move the Start button to the center (with the icons) the preview images are correctly in the middle.  I use a custom Start Menu button and have also tried reverting to the default windows button, but no effect.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. First, do know that Stardock do not support for user on Windows insider preview release version. Just as a test, if you revert to Windows 11 Standard released version. Does the issue appear?

Thank you.

I'm not about to revert to Windows release version, and have to reinstall everything.  I would remove Start11 and use an alternative first.  I posted this the another thread and another user said that he was using Windows Insider 3858 and had no problems

Try deactivating or uninstalling Twinkle Tray and see if the issue resolves.

EDIT: I downloaded and installed Twinkle Tray, but I don't have a compatible monitor, so I wasn't able to test it.

This is with Windows 11 Pro - 22635.4000; Start11 - 2.0.8.1, so it's not the OS version that is causing your issue.

As you can see, I have the taskbar set up like yours. Custom Start button with Task View on the left, and App taskbar buttons centered.

Something specific to your system, or third party software, is probably causing this issue.

I uninstalled Twinkle Tray, rebooted, and still on the left.  I'll keep trying disabling resident programs one at at time.   Thanks!

I can't remember from your old thread if you tried uninstall/reinstall or purge. Those would also be something to try.

If you have Windows 11 Pro, you could create a new sandbox and install Start11 in the sandbox to see if it works correctly.

Did you ever get this issue resolved?

However, Basj makes a fair point. There is a near absolute certainty that you, and any other early Windows version adopters, have seen issues with apps or functionality being on the Windows Insider track.  It is the risk one takes to be on the cutting-edge; that they could indeed have to endure some suffering as MS works out new options and functionality.

That said, we very much appreciate you and others bringing any issue to our attention.  While MS has a habit of changing things frequently before a release, knowing what may be coming, with detailed reproduction steps and supporting documentation (images and such), is a fantastic help.

With Windows 11 Pro - 22635.4005 Beta; Start11 - 2.0.8.1, I am not seeing this issue, so I don't think this particular issue for the OP is related to the OS version.

The only issue I am seeing with this OS version is the right-click context menu issue when taskbar is on the top; https://forums.stardock.com/529374/page/2/#3938606 where Neil says "This should be resolved in our next update."
