How to stop Submenus expanding right in the Start menu?
Thank you!
Please give us your Windows info - run winver and the Start10 or Start11 iteration from the "About" option.
A screen shot of the problem might also help.
Pursuant to your pm Dolphin495034, there is no block on your posting that I can discover.
Clear your browser's data, history and cookies, close and restart it. Should clear your problem up.
Pleas give us the info DrJBHL asked for in Reply #1, as well as, what Menu style you are using.
Also, explain what you mean by submenu, and a screen shot.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I believe this is standard behavior for Windows 7 Startpanel. When there is a program in the left Start panel, with last open file history or Function/task choice, the list will show up when you hover over its icon. I believe there is no option within Start11 configuration windows to disable it. Not sure if there is a regedit hack to manually remove it. Someone might come along and give a tip if it is known.
Thank you.

I found something that might help you to get what you want. Its a registry edit. Do only if you comfortable doing Registry Edit. It is best to do registry backup/export before trying Registry Edit. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-back-up-and-restore-the-registry-in-windows-855140ad-e318-2a13-2829-d428a2ab0692
Added registry key to hide > on Win7/Modern menus so jump lists do not show. Create this in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Start8\Start8.ini\Start8 called S11_HideJumpListOnWin7ModernMenus = 1
This was taken from here: https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1750138994/Start+Menu+Products+Registry+Settings
Something like screenshot below.

Restart Explorer.exe to see the changes. You can change back the value to 0 to revert back to normal function.

You're awesome, worked! Suggestion: include this in Start11 options.
