Fences lose icons, all go back to desktop

I install Fences 5.83 several weeks back. Prior to that update I've never had a problem I couldn't fix by changing something in the Fences settings. Since the update, every reboot or monitor goes to sleep when the desktop comes back all icons are gone from the Fences and sitting on the desktop (Win 11). After many setting changes most notably telling Fences to keep the settings on a monitor change. The problem remained. So I did and uninstall of Fences, removing all settings and installed Fences 5.80 ended up with the same problem.

Yesterday, I downloaded the Fences purge file and ran it. Uninstalling Fences and removing all settings. Then reinstalled 5.80 again after a fresh download. This morning, the exact same problem and I had set Fences to keep the Fences on a monitor change.  I don't know what is going on but, I'm very frustrated. Please help or fix and send out a new update.

Thanks

I have the same issue and it looks like it started September 3rd.  I haven't saved snapshots for some time now and it all of a sudden started saving snapshots on 9/3.  And of course almost all icons were on the desktop, with the exception of four programs.

Update – our mistake – please give the verison https://cdn.stardock.us/support/uploads/Fences5_5.8.2.6-j133-Setup.exe a try (v5.82 Rev 6, not the v5.82 Rev 5 previously mentioned). I have edited our team's previous post to point to Rev 6 as well. This copy has a fix that might help your situation. And in either event, we'd love to you get your log file to look into this issue more.

Hi @rikinn, we received your report; thank you for uploading. Based on your report, could you try again with this?

https://cdn.stardock.us/support/uploads/Fences5_5.8.4.5-j138-Setup.exe

It's possible this fixes the issue, it's possible that this just gives us more data to work with.

As before, uninstall/reset and let's go through the process again. Don't forget to enabled Advanced Error Logging in the Troubleshooting menu after installing.

Either way it goes, after a day or so, please upload an error report via the troubleshooting menu so I can see if there are any lingering "could be a problem" things going on. In any event, hoping this takes care of it.

This isn't a common issue, but we have seen reports - so thanks for your patience and your help resolving this issue. 🙏 @srs615, same, please let us know how this helps, and likewise please enable advanced logging, sending error report after reproducing the issue if you could. Thank you 🙏
