Translucent

Fences suddenly ‘hide’

Hi, I have been working with Fences (3.1.6.1) for years. It is always a nuisance when file folders stored in Fences suddenly ‘hide’ behind it. It takes a long search to find them again. I have no idea whether this problem can be solved ... It would help if the fences were transparent and everything on my desktop (full colour, Windows 10 Home) would show through. Unfortunately, this cannot be set. If I tick the ‘translucent’ box, a background image is visible, but no file folder is stored on it. What can I do? Many thanks for a solution, Stefan (Translated with DeepL.com)

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system.

  1. Windows full version and OS Build number. Please use Winver.exe
  2. Is your Windows "Auto Arrange Icons" setting, turn off? What happen if you turn it on? Will the icons rearrange them self away from under the Fences?
  3. Any specific reason for an icons to drop off from its assign Fence?

Thank you.

Thank you Basj for the quick reply.
The reason I haven't replied yet is that the ‘hiding game’ doesn't occur all the time, so I haven't yet been able to check whether there is a connection with the automatic arrangement of the desktop icons. My system version is Windows 10 Home 22H2 (Build 19045, 4894). Maybe you can already do something with it?

Best regards

Stefan

Please turn the "auto arrange icons" "On" and report back if you still see Icons hidden behind a Fence.

Thank you,
