Lots of gross generalizations there, don't you think?

Most times when I personally am looking for something I actually go and look.....it's a self-motivational experience which is often extremely rewarding.  Google simply happens to be the best of them, [search engines] though it is still a case of GIGO [you can look that one up on.....Google, too].

Now, about 'rude'....the word is 'buffoon'....Spell checker [Google is a dictionary too].

But to translate your request....what you wish is high quality freeware in the form of screensavers but are one of those who is incapable/unwilling to input effort to output success and avidly presume others have an inferior life/time-value/appreciation and will spend their days accommodating your every whim.

My dad would have simply said "get off your arse and do it yourself", but he was a rude old sod.....[but I did what I was told, all the same]....

Now, now.
Actually I have some input on this but it is not good. I have tried the search for screensavers that actually work, look good and also do not put a bunch of other crap on your computer. In fact is has been an extremely long and time consuming search every holiday for me.
What I have come up with is that such a place basically does not exist. I found out that if I do not want to pay for someone’s hard work to get a nice well working screensaver I am not going to have one. The best I could find were the trial versions of the good ones and you do get pop-ups for purchase during the running of the screen-saver. This is apparently one of those applications that nothing good is free and have just excepted that.
Yes, I did think about making my own but finding a program to do so was not the shortest search either. Yes, I am talking free so that I could test it out.
I only use a different screensaver for the Holidays and then only the big ones. I have learned to just deal with what I can find and just get it off my computer when done with it. For me purchasing these apps for just the short time I use them is not an option. I need to put my extra towards this I will use more on a daily basis.

Edit for a P.S.

Too early for popcarn for me. I will take some pancakes, saugage and orange juice, please.

screensavers don't use them...there are times when they are almost as annoying as pop-ups on the internet. Have you ever worked on someone's machine and they have their screensaver set to pop-up after a minute of inactivity

me either ess. i stoped useing screen savers years ago. now if, (an i mean IF, since im lazy as heck ) i get up from my pc, i simply hit the monitor stand by button.

not only does it keep my screen from getting an image burnt to it but it saves power, and extends the monitor life ..

hey stumpy can i get some biscuits and sausage gravy with that last order ?

I have to agree with Essencay, and with todays technology, screensavers aren't needed.

The only place I use one is at work were I am forced to by policy. They mandate that we have one that is set to 15 minutes, then it locks the screen so that you have to enter your password to gain access.

This is stupid also, I just lock my screen myself whenever I get up from my desk. In windows, the "window key + L" instantly locks the screen.

So there again, no need for a screen saver.

If you're using LCD montior on laptop or desktop computer, do not use screensavers. LCD have limited display life, and will degrade evenally. It has appox. 100,000 hours display life, but will degrade earlier than that.

If you are indeed using LCD, use setting that will turn off montior after certain time of inactivity.

Thank you for the breakfast Stumpy.

I'm quite certain BoXXi's post was a typo. Most LCD or plasma screens last from 10,000 to 20,000 hours, typically 1-2 years running 24/7.

OOPS it was a typo. Yes, it's 10,000. Er no, I'm NOT BoXXi my art is not that good.

Good point about LCD, i do have one. Maybe i should rephrase that comment about rudeness. If you don't know of a specific site for screensavers, don't reply to this thread.

Hmmmm! I've been all through the Libraries here and didn't see any screensaver categories.

jdklusman...it is helpful in that it suggests you use search engines to search...as that is what they are for, in spite of your lack of confidence with them.

Request detailed information about skinning topics and you'll get your fill here as that is what we're all about, but since Wincustomize.com has no 'screenshot section' it is a likely bet that Google will give you more successful hits than trawling in the dark on this board on the off-chance of a response.

I found many site with free screensavers and no Pop-Ups, using the Google search, but then again I have a Pop-Up Stopper, a Firewall, Virus Checker, and just in case anything does get past, I also have 2 system cleaners, if you do not have any of these or can't be bothered to install one or all of the, then Tough Cookies.

It's good, Use It
