Fences 5: Non-Fence Icons, etc Snap to Top left of Desktop

I have 3 monitors and what is shown below is:

--- The default left monitor desktop with my minimalist Fences (SYSTEM, MUSIC, STUFF) with nothing else.
--- Same desktop with some randomly added shortcuts to illustrate what happens.

Unlike a regular desktop, I cannot place these or anything else anywhere, they automatically snap to the left, starting from the top left on down, etc.  Even placing them anywhere on the desktop stretched over the other 2 monitors, they still snap back to monitor 1 as described.

I eventually move or delete them as needed, but it's a bit of a nuisance to not be able to place them where I want.

I've scanned through the Support knowledge base but didn't see anything either in the Rules or Snapping sections that addresses this.

Or I'm not experienced enough to know what to do.

Thanks.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try this, right click on your desktop, hover over "View"-> un-tick "Auto arrange icons". Do that and report back.

Thank you.

@Basj - Thank you.  It worked! Problem solved.

BTW I've been aware of Stardock going back to the early 2000s and had some nice icon thing for a while, but let it go.  I considered Stardock type customization kind of a luxury, not a necessity.

But due to current workflow, I kept accumulating too many shortcuts and other things on my main desktop.  It kept getting cluttered.

Bought  Fences only a couple of days ago.  Very glad I did.  I like tidy.
(Especially for people like me - I'll be turning 70 this January; keeping things simple and easy to manage matters the older one gets - lol)

Great, glad to hear that and I would like to suggest Stardock Start11v2 where you can customize your start panel much much more and it also has a capabilities to include your Fences group into your Start panels. This could help make your desktop much much cleaner. Refer to my screenshot below. Those Group with "Fences" icons is directly link to your Fences. Hence you don't ever need to go to your desktop. Just click on your Startpanel and select the correct Fence you need and you have your shortcut etc right there on your Startpanel.

Thank you,

Thanks.  I already have my own grouped launch system on the taskbar such SYST (System), SNC (Sound = my music production stuff), VID (video production stuff), etc.  But maybe I'll play around with Fences at some point to create something similar.
