Copy and paste the icon from the quick launch menu into a folder, then drag it from the folder to the Object Dock. You can change to icon to what you want etc. too. Hope this works for ya. I just made on for myself this way and it works fine.

maybe https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=29&SkinID=3231 works for you?

Just for future reference, the 'show desktop' item is just a text file with the following command saved with a .scf extension

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

You can shortcut the one in your "C:\Documents and Settings\*your login*.*your computer name*\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch" folder, or make your own if you deleted it by accident.

My "Show Desktop" still doesn't work. Is there an "arguement" that I have to enter (like for "My Computer")?

The objects on the dock are not themselves shortcuts (so it seems anyway).

Make the dock object from an already working shortcut and it should work...

YMMV of course
