Fences 5

from Stardock Forums

Fences 5 seems to have a glitch.  The software keeps asking me to install (pop-up installation window) even though I have it installed.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the software several times on my desktop and laptop.  Both are Windows 10.  Can you see what I can do to stop the installation window from keep popping up?

Are you using Object Desktop Manager or iobit software updater?

I'm using Object Desktop Manager.  I do have iobit software updater also but did not use it to update Fences.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Just as a test, if you temporary uninstall IOBit does you still see the issue.

The iobit software updater could be triggering the updates as it did with me. I configured it not to update Fences..."whitelisting", as it were. I also stopped using Object Desktop Manager since it's probably detecting Fences 4 or Fences 3 files on your dives somewhere. I compare versions from the "about Fences" in the configuration window to the available versions under "Downloads" when you click your avatar on the bar at the top of the page, then click "View Individual Downloads" in the "Object Desktop" tab.

I have the same issue.  But on top of that When I restart I loose the HEADERS of the fences.  Basically I know where they are but the headers are gone.  Tried reinstalling Fences 5 but same issue.  How to fix this.  Pierre

  1. Windows full version and OS Build number. Please use Winver.exe.
  2. Fences 5 full version number.
  3. Video or screenshot showing us your header-less issue.
