Start 11 not stopping all win 11 start menu to show

Start Button

Hello, This issue started after having to change primary administrator of my Win 11 PC. I have downloaded the latest start11 since then.

The issue continues. It seems my Win 11 is still asserting itself over my Start 11, and the win 11 menu pops up frequently - but not always.

It is distracting having to click until Start 11 menu appears.

What can I do, more than disabling all keystrokes and mouse clicks to only trigger the Start 11 menu?

Thanks for any help!

Ok. So, in another try to get this fixed on my own was to subjectively uninstall Start 11 completely.

And, a couple of restarts later the issue seems to be resolved. I also changed the icon, to be certain the win 11 icon wasn't hiding behind there.

If the issue persists after seeing it (nominally) not open the Win 11 menu, I will pop back in here.

Ok, update for those that find this.

I decided to change the icon to one I liked more. To get the icon to appear on my secondary windows, I had to restart. Ok, secondary windows new icon - check. Main button - back to Win11 default and the Win 11 menu was popping up again.

So I uninstalled start 11 again. Restarted. Checked the start button dir for Stardock in x86 and my custom button remained, all others were uninstalled - ok.

Keeping in mind that settings were NOT uninstalled insured I would have nothing to do but enjoy the nice start menu without having to do it all over again.

Reinstalled start 11. Restarted. Custom button on main and secondary displays. Noice!

Hope this helps those that like *custom* Win 11 as much as possible. [happy face]

Ok, back again. The issue is more pronounced now. That is to say uninstalling - restarting - reinstalling - restarting - does not fix the problem of the main start button being win 11 and on mouse click opens the win 11 menu.

Primarily, an update of Win 11 that nearly killed my pc - repaired in safe mode by reverting to before the upodate - so running now but main start button will NOT fix to what I change it to.

PLEASE, reply if there is a fix or workaround. I prefer to use the mouse - ibid. the windows button opens start 11 menu, but not the mouse click.

I have the latest update of start 11.

Ok, now there seems to be a solution. I tried to hide the main menu button. So I restarted to get that effect happening. Instead, and much to my satisfaction, all start buttons have the custom icon, and win 11 menu no longer plagues my OCD.

Not sure if the attempt to hide the windows 11 start, really meant that it will not be the default but the custom one I had chosen would be active.

I hope that future updates recognize this issue, or confirm that this method is what the proper process is to have a custom icon for the start button.
