Design me a cool skin and get paid $$$

monstaVision - I would suggest that a better way to commision an artist would be to look at their work and make them an offer directly. The implication in the other thread you started is that if you decide you don't like the work someone provides then you won't pay for it which would seem to be an unreasonable condition to place when asking someone to invest a significant amount of time working for you.

A full skin (well detailed) can take up to a couple of weeks. That will be a real waste of someone's time if at the end the contractor choose not to use/purchase the skin.

I don't think i've explained this very well. I'm not trying to rip anyone off here - this is an opportunity. We need about 20 skins. If someone comes up with a design for 2-3 we can negotiate a fee to complete all 20. Rather than speculate about the merits and ethics of my offer, why not send me an email for the design specs. So, to put it another way, this is a chance to enter a competition where the "prize" is the chance to work for you?

...I'm not interested myself as I have a full time job and would rather work/play on skins without a brief, but hopefully you'll find someone who is on these terms.

I've had a look round, but since our GUI is touch screen (need big buttons for small fingers), most of the skins here are too small and complicated. Thanks away

I'm curious to know what Matt considers "market rates." Considering companies like TSF and Frog Design charge higher than your average art studio i have a feeling he's going to suffer from "sticker shock" when he learns our prices
