Pseudo-Media Center

Hey, I recently built a miniature PC for the purpose of fileserving, and I want to incorporate it into my "home theater" (read: tv, stereo, and roughly 2.8 miles of cables ) over summer, when i'm not living on-campus for school ...

Basically, I want to find a good WindowBlinds skin that still looks goodat really low resolutions, and that would not be too much of an eyestrain. The goal is to emulate XP media center edition, but i didn't see anything made like that.

Has anyone here tried running Stardock gear (or any other shell modifier, perhaps) on a TV? any suggestions? Thanks!

Haven't heard anything along those lines, but can only imagine that it wouldn't look very good given the low native resolution of a standard TV.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help

I have thought about doing this myself, I have a Computer setup running Snapstream's BeyondTV, which has its own interface for all the Video portion, so I have not been rushed, You might try using one of the more minamulistic skins, or better yet Makeing a whole new interface with DX, that would probobly work best.

whole new interface with DX

Or use the Media Center DX theme. That would look pretty cool I think.

Thanks, I honestly hadn't checked under DX ... I'm still fairly new to the whole suite of Stardock gear. Unfortunately, now I'm hooked!

I like the MCE desktop X desktop a lot. Anybody else know of any other good themes for a low-res system, being used as a HTPC?
