Cannot open folders using any skins after automatic upgrade

Yesterday, I received a notification that there was a new upgrade to windowblinds (I have checked the check for upgrades once a week box ticked).  After installation, I found that I could only open folders if I had the default skin selected. This was not the case prior to upgrade.

Current version:

Windows 11 Core 24H2 (26100.ge_release.240331-1435)

WindowBlinds 11.04 (019 x64 - Windows 11 Edition) - 64 bit OS

Double clicking does not work, nor does right click open

Explorer is set to use double-click to open a folder.

Thanks in advance.

The issue isn't the WB update, but the Windows update you also installed I think.

You need 11.06 of WB, I am unsure why yours is stuck on 11.04.

Does the manual check for updates button in the WindowBlinds UI about page offer an update?  If not I suggest uninstalling WB, then downloading the latest version from the Stardock website.

Interesting; the manual check for updates indicates that I am up to date. Perhaps I had been using 11.06 and somehow the autoupdate sent me back to 11.04? The button in the object desktop manager just has a "configure" choice.

Since I can't use any skin, it will need to be removed anyways.

Open the Windowblinds config and click the "Check for updates" and you should be able to get the update.

As I said; the program said that I was up to date using that "check for update"

So I removed the program

THEN reinstalled it. I now have 11.06, and I can open folders using any theme. I think the auto-update put 11.04 on the system.

Check for updates also says I am up to date with 11.06.

This closes this.
