I reinstalled the game after the recent balance update and I've been enjoying it a lot... Thank you for supporting it for such a long time! I wanted to report these issues since I'm pretty happy about the game content, but these issues really impact my experience playing the game.
The first issue I've encountered multiple times is that zooming out sometimes crashes the game, especially zooming out to the map overview screen. I've crashed the game a dozen times zooming out by flicking my mouse wheel and the game freezes for a few seconds and then completely crashes. There is no error report window or anything, it just completely exits and I lose whatever progress I had made.
The other issue is with the AI: one real issue and one potential issue. The real one is that in a long game, the AI will reach a point where it will simply stop attacking - I have played many games that are very intense until there's a plateau and the AI stops attacking. When I build an attack force and overwhelm the AI, I usually find that it has been producing units, but they are left in the base. In one instance I've entered an enemy base that contained 2 juggernauts and a number of dreadnaughts just parked there. As far as I know this issue is always there past a certain point in the game. When attacking I have some trouble controlling certain units in that I order them to attack and they don't attack at all, so sometimes I have to use the attack-move order to make them do what I need them to. I wonder if the AI is having the same issue and just not retrying or using attack-move?
The other potentially imagined issue is that I've been trying to beat Tough and Insane AIs and after dozens of attempts with many pauses to micro-manage, I am consistently overwhelmed. I am aware this is very likely a skill issue, but I'm usually pretty good at RTS games being a veteran of Age of Empires and pretty much all of the Command and Conquer games. It seems that no matter how optimized are my plays, their unit build speed is just too much: in the time I have to produce 1 unit an insane AI has produced 10, and just steamrolls the game 5 or 10 minutes in. I'd be interested to know if others have had more success against Insane AIs!
Thank you devs!
