indeed!! i'm on my nvidia machine so i dug into my configurations.. the first level was general adapter settings, next level found options similar to ati's hydravision, went another step deeper and found lo and behold:

[] Allow different wallpapers per monitor.

i appear to have a geforce 4mx. with this card, follow these steps:

Desktop Properties ]] settings >> advanced ]] geforce4mx integrated (your adapter tab) >> Desktop configuration ]] Desktops >> Properties

check the box and you're set.

i don't use hydravision anymore so i guess i'm out of luck on my home machines

what in hell was i on???? how did i get hat?? yeah i ment Ge Force FX 5200, not GeFirece. i just can't get the same resolution on both monitors.... :-/

if they're the same type of monitor, go into that control panel i mentioned and you'll be able to set the res. if you can't - then i'dsay its a failure on the part of the card.

if you have different monitors - some monitors top out at lower resulutions then others. example : my 19 in goes to 1600x1200 while my 17, same brand monitor, only goes to 1280x96.
