well, then DON´T install LiteStep.

install ShellOn. http://www.dx13.co.uk/programs/shellon/index.html

then unpack the Turtle Soup theme to c:\litestep\

then configure ShellOn (and please read the docs, to do it right)

THEN reboot (not earlier)

exactly. as in post #22 and #24.

what the LiteStep Installer does is installing a recent version of LiteStep.exe as your main shell and also installs an OTS2 compliant folder structure and a default theme.
you want to use the Turtle Soup theme. so you have no use for that.
it´s pretty comfortable that Turtle Soup already comes with an old LiteStep.exe included. that was pretty common in the old days.
so you install ShellOn. that´s a shell manager that lets you choose which shell to load after logging in. an other plus is that it´s pretty easy to get back to explorer if something fails.

so follow these steps:
1. download ShellOn http://www.dx13.co.uk/programs/shellon/index.html Link
2. read the ShellOn docs. and read them again. and then read them again.
3. download the Turtle Soup theme.
4. unpack the Turtle Soup theme to c:\litestep\.
5. read the docs that come with the theme. and read them again. and then read them again.
6. do the necessary configs that were suggested in the Turtle Soup readmes.
7. configure ShellOn. you have two shells to add: c:\windows\explorer.exe and c:\litestep\litestep.exe
8. have a look at ShellOn docs again.
9. check if you configured ShellOn correctly.
10. NOW AND NOT EARLIER: REBOOT.

sounds scary, but i tried to make these instructions idiot-proof. it should not take longer than twenty minutes to set it up all correctly.
but please read those docs. so, i´m invited to dinner, let us know if it all worked correctly tomorrow.
btw: it´s quite normal that logging on takes longer than you´re used to. i could post why that is, but i doubt you´ll have much use for that information. soultion: use the classic logon. (or just wait a little).

then unpack the Turtle Soup theme to c:\litestep\

then configure ShellOn (and please read the docs, to do it right)

THEN reboot (not earlier)
