I couldn't get anywhere with it either. Ended up uninstalling. Would have been nice if it did what it was supposed to.

And it kept giving me stern warnings that I needed to pay for it....not likely if I can't get the trial version to work!

What exactly is the problem. The documentation that comes with it seems clear enough to me.

In the KK Menu directory, in the DOC folder, open the kkmenu.html file. All instructions are there. You create the menus with kkmenueditor.  I just installed it out of curiosity. Took me 5 minutes to get a  menu configured and working.  So, I don't get what the problem seem to be.

Hmmm...maybe I got a bad DL or something. I didn't have any DOC folder to open or html file for that matter. It just put an empty [no Icon] spot on the ObjectDOck. Any attempts to assign an icon or any settings got no results. I uninstalled it. Paxx, out of curiosity where did You DL from? I got it from the Objectdock section here at WC hoping to be able to open the systray from ObjDock and hide the Win taskbar.

I wanted kk menu soley for my start menu, and when I downloaded it, I couldn't stand it (plus it runs a couple apps in the background (like kktrayserver)<- ?? o_O
Anyway I got rid of it as well.. Luckily I posted my concerns and met an awesome friend who made the now widely popular Start Menu docklet

I use kkmenu and it works perfectly for me. The combination Objectdock and kkmenu is good, but Avedesk and kkmenu is much better.

I payed for it and it works perfectly for me. I've made my own menus with no problems.

For me it's a really nice and handy program.

I believe there are 2 versions of it. One is a docklet (version 1.0)to be installed within the Object Dock directory as normal - this has to be paid for at about 9 euro's. The version I have is 2.8 and I think it was from a time when this program was freeware. This 2.8 version is an .exe, so you shortcut to it and then use the arguments to load an .ini file which contains the menu configuaration and also the skin .ini. These ini's are created either with the packaged Menu Editor program or can be hand typed in notepad and saved as .ini. I am not a programmer or very clever with pc software, but I managed to learn to write a menu in notepad just by common sense and copying the included .ini sample menu's.

It certainly isn't as good as the start menu docklet, but it is very cool (if a little tempermental sometimes) and unbeatable for custom menu's - you can even assign custom icons within the menus. The mac skin looks very cool too, nicely done.

Unfortunately I cannot remember where I got the link for the 2.8 version, but it is out there and FREE! No way I'm paying for a docklet!! It comes with help files, menu editor, skin editor and sample menu ini's. Get this one if you can - not the docklet. It doesn't have the tray program with it either which is good because that is buggy and you have to manually edit your registry to get rid of it. Persevere and you will have a great custom menu. I got pissed with it at times as well!
