He probably means NextStart and he seems to want the "start menu" looks like it normally does.

crae: yeah, maybe he misses the start button, taskbar and desktop icons. the next question would be why he customizes his desktop at all if he wants it to stay default.
i have that strange feeling that he wont come back to make this question a little clearer though.

lmao typo, well what i really wanted to do was skining my desktop with litestep, and have a start menu. I noticed with the skins with litestep, the task bar, or should i say start menu was completly gone, so i went to install new start, as people recommened me to that program. i installed it, and it didnt really help me as much as a real task bar. you might just say, why dont you uninstall both programs and go with windows blinds. The point is, the reason why i want to stick with new start and litestep is just like any one would download any thing from this site, to make there desktop nice looking

try litestep and object bar .. i use both together at times. they work well together and the object bar will give you the start button ur looking for ..

Errr, HG, if by 'new start' he means NextSTART, so does NextSTART.

uitp45: you are aware that when you right-click on the desktop you´ll get the LiteStep popup menu which is the replacement for the start menu? it can be fully customized in both look and content.

if you still miss the start menu, you can also run LS on top of explorer. just make sure to add:
LSTrayService FALSE
to your step.rc

i am aware that there is that menu, and i love it, but i want that menu at the same time my regular windows task bar

well, then do as i suggested one post above. don´t install LS as shell, but run it as a regular program (double-click on litestep.exe)
with NextStart that should be even easier (don´t use it, so i can´t really tell).
or get HoverDesk http://www.hoverdesk.net . here you can have your regular taskbar with all the other goodies together without problems.
