Geomagnetic, Gas Giant & City planet types missing in random maps

I usually play on random maps of various sizes, and for a number of months now I have not seen ANY planets spawned of these types:  Geomagnetic, Gas Giant, City.  It has been at least since the update that added the "Ancient Starbase", but possibly before that.

I had a similar issue with Desert Planets earlier this year.  Since the last major patch, 1.61, I did start seeing Desert Planets on random maps.

When I posted about the issue, a few people claimed that they have had random maps with Desert Planets prior to the patch so I assumed I was just very unlucky at the time.

Since patch 1.61 came out, I've had random maps with and without random Desert Planets.  I've also seen one with a single City Planet, one with a single Geomagnetic Planet, and two with two Gas Giants.  It MAY be that you're just getting unlucky, but I understand how frustrating it can be.  All I can tell you is that the bigger the system, the higher the chance for special planets....also, more stars helps, but probably not more than 4-5 stars on the largest maps.

Sorry I can't offer a solution.

I am currently playing the largest map available with seven stars and 264 gravity wells, not counting the eight minor faction worlds, and NONE of them are Geomagnetic, Gas Giant, nor City.  I have played different sized maps and those three planet types never appear.  This isn't just bad luck, it is a bug.

Agreed. Playing large random. I see desert but no gas giants or geomagnetic or city planet. It's true.

And again, those planet types used to show up in random maps.  But like I wrote in my original post, I have not seen any of them since at least the update that added the Ancient Starbases.  I wish Stardock had an actual bug/problem ticket system instead of just a forum.  I have no idea if anyone will ever see this post.
