Loss Of Cursor and Keyboard

Running three PC's (Desktops) All have Windows 11 Home and Version 25H2.

Using KVM mode.

I get random complete frieze with keyboard and mouse disappears. There is no warning. The caps lock key will show it can still be changed.

Ctrl Alt Del will bring up the menu but nothing can be pointed to or actioned.

This lasts for a few seconds to over 24 hours. Suddenly as quick as it stopped working it is back on again. The only thing that stops it happening is to carry out the action required on one of the other/both pc's and then to unload the software.

The only other way to clear it is to push on/off button and re-start pc.

This has been happening since I took out licence some months ago. I would ditch the software but there is nothing else that works in the way Multiplicity works.

Today I had forgotten to unload software and was working on the main Pc and lost access to everything for over an hour.

Any thoughts on what is causing this.

Simon

Hi Simon,

Thanks for posting.  This sounds like Multiplicity is still running but input is getting trapped or blocked between your PCs.

Please see our Multiplicity connection troubleshooting guide below, detailing common causes/solutions, and a batch file that can be run on all primary/secondary PCs for common firewall conflicts:

If the issue continues after that, further troubleshooting guidance for common issues can be found here:

If you continue to encounter trouble after using these guides, please:

  1. Make sure all three PCs are running the same Multiplicity version (always reboot whenever you update or reinstall).
  2. Note which PC had focus at the time, which PC lost keyboard/mouse, and whether the cursor is still visible anywhere.
  3. Note any other settings changes you may have made that could impact the issue, including how KVM is being used (fullscreen/windowed mode, etc)
  4. As many details as you can about what works and what doesn't; how to reproduce the problem (pictures/video always helpful).

Please let us know if this helps, and if you have any other questions along the way.
