I LOVE animations
Before I discovered skinning I just sat around all day making .gif's
Yet I have been very productive today hehehehe
I made the coolest dx weather object known to mankind just now
it is an animated wallpaper that has a picture of a temple sticking out of some jungle in south america. when it rains outside then it lightning strikes near the temple - when it is sunny outside it is sunny at the temple - when it is night outside it is dark at the temple
it is SOOOOOOO cool I took one of Goku's weather objects and changed some of the scripting so there are only 7 states instead of 47

I turned the actual weather icon object into a 1024 by 728 picture with states for the different weather condidions and I changed the sky and the temple where needed to be realistic

well that sounds like alot of work and effort, keep up the maddness and maybe practice those tutorials so your work will be truely original.

I am horrible at windows blinds
I tried using skin studio but failed miserably
I have attempted using it to make a windowblind 6 times

I am worried that the priview image wont do it justice
like all animated wallpapers it looks ten times better when it is active
I dont really know how do go about making the priview image

I just wish we could upload animated priviews -sigh-

Take screenshots of all 7 states and then reduce the sizes until they fit the screen. It may not look the best but In my opinion it is probably the best way to show it off. People will understand that the images are distorted. You want them to see as much as possible. Oh, and my screenshots are horrible so you may not want to listen to me.

Well latin, now I guess is the time to learn SS. I know what you mean though, it is a bit confusing for me too. My main problem is the graphics though, I am very new to all this as well and it's hard for me to find the time to practice practice practice. I'm meerly suggesting you practice while you have the opportunity is all. If I had the time I would be in PhotoShop all day trying to get it right but alas ... I work too much for PS perfection.


Keep trying with WB's, I'm sure you can do it. You seem to be doing everything else. Just turn on the music, pop a tic-tac and take your ridalin and I'm sure you will be able to sit there long enough to get it right.

Screenshots need the wall to be partly obscured to prevent re-use of the wall as a wall from the screenshot.

It's a copyright issue.

Don't try to create a windowblind all at once. Take your time. Get a theme in you head, and do one piece. The start button or the start menu is a good place to start. Then, just back off if you have too. The most important thing is to keep it fun. That is how it gets completed.

When I start a start menu, it looks nothing at all like the finished one. I actually have five completed attempts before I see something that I like. Each one might take three or four hours then it gets trashed. And that is just one piece. The next piece might take four hours, then it gets trashed. In the end, it just takes a lot of patience.

I actually have a new idea for a windowblind theme. I've had it for two months. But, I haven't even got one piece that I am happy with. So, I just back off until I feel inspired with a new idea or approach to it.

So, don't let the failures deture you. The success in the end will overcome all the failures.
