Windows 11 - all themes broken, File Explorer will not open

Hi folks, 

Windows 11 version25H2 OS Build 26200.9168) will not load File Explorer windows when I have WindowBlinds enabled. I first noticed this with the Aero 11 theme by SimplexDesigns so I tried an alternate theme and ran into the same issue. I then tried Stardocks' own themes that come with WindowBlinds 11 and hit the same issues.

 

System: Dell Precision Precision 7750

Processor Intel(R) Xeon(R) W-10885M CPU @ 2.40GHz (2.40 GHz)

Installed RAM 64.0 GB (63.6 GB usable)

Graphics card NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 (16 GB)

What is the full version number of Windowblinds you are using?

I did a quick check here with WB 11.06 and no issues were found.

Is it possible you have an older version of WB?

See, that's what I thought - but checking for update claims it's current: 

However I have noticed its date is 2023. I haven't manually checked the site to see if there is a newer build because the Object Desktop applet doesn't give any indication it's outdated - I will uninstall/reinstall later and report back.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Not sure ObjectDesktop not showing that update available. Please visit your account page directly here: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products. You should see Windowblinds 11 v11.07. Download and install it. Make sure to reboot the system as soon as the installation is done. Retest your issue and report back.

I uninstalled/reinstalled using the Object Desktop applet, retained settings, and now it's good to go. I shouldn't have trusted the check for updates, and the lack of updates in the applet. On this laptop I haven't booted to Windows much at all other than to keep Windows patched - it's been booted to RHEL and Fedora almost exclusively for a few years. :)
