My Control panel ICON!!

after i installed desktopX and uninstalled it...

my control panel icon turned into a yellow folder

also my "Printer and Faxes" icon looks like a broken link >

how do i fix it!!! help will be appreciated ^^

Right click on Taskbar, go to Start Menu/ Customize and change the way 'Control Panel' and 'Printer and Faxes' are displayed...should set you back to default.

How do u change it there?? It wont change it just says "What's this?" when I right-click it. And the control panel there has the right icon~!!

You right click on the Taskbar and it say''s "What This?"? Not that it matters, but are you using XP?

I can hear you scratching your head from here....(hummm...that could be me doing it)....I don't have a clue where you're right clicking to get that, but when you right click on the Taskbar (if you don't know where it's at...ask) you will be able to click on properties...actually let's make this real easy..... click anywhere on the Start menu and get the same thing.

Noooooo I meant in the advanced menu in the "customized" section of the start menu. If that makes sense...

Ok.. I clicked property after I right clicked the Taskbar. Then I went to the Start Menu tab. Then I clicked on "Customize" then I right-clicked the control panel button but it said "What's this?"

OK...below the Control Panel icon there should be 3 choices as to how to show the Control Panel...Link, Menu and Do not Show.

Change those two that are showing incorrectly to something other then it's set to now and see if it reverts them back to the default.

No problem....change the Control Panel setting (using the 3 choices under it) to 'Do not Show' and click on apply. Then go back in and change back to 'Show as Link' and apply. It should now show the correct icon. If it does, do the same thing to the 'Printer and Fax' icon.

Ya I have cursorxp, windowblinds, bootskin, and logon studio.
but I only use CursorXP and Windowblinds.
