wouldn't be as cheap methinks, after it goes to retail stores. customer service would have to be expanded, you would need to expand distribution, and in the united states you would need to open at least one satallite office somewhere on the continental.

i've that about that myself, about how much more area they could hit by teaming up with something like Staples or Best Buy, but stardock would have to really go out on a limb.

So, I guess this program is the internets best kept secret about releasing the beauty of ones computer. No wonder everyone who wants a beautiful computer buys a MAC. But, instead they could just buy a PC and Windowblinds.

If I recall, Windowblinds is actually available in certain stores in boxed format.
Think I remember Brad mentioning that a year or two back.

I think a good way of getting more folks exposed to WindowBlinds would be to get one of the major players like Microsoft or Symantec to package the freeware trial with their software, that way you can still use the current business model of offering the full version through the internet. I think I read somewhere that was the whole concept behind Stardock, whether it be their desktop customization software or their games software.

from what i understand, stardock has a good working relationship with some people at microsoft, and considering how exlusive the software is to windows i'm sure it would be very easy to partner up with them. i'd guess that there are some very good reasons why that hasn't been followed through with.
