Help: Confused about StarDock Central.

I've had SDC since they first created it. It has always worked fine but for about two weeks now I don't understant the thread format.

It has two sections (a top one and a bottom one.) It used to be that the top one had thread subjects, and if I clicked one of them the individual message and all the replies to it showed up in the bottom section.

Lately the top section has only about 15 threads (which still function as they used to) but then I noticed the "back to mssage board" button at the bottom of the message list in the bottom section. I had never used it before but I gave it a shot. There were tons on messages I had never seen before because they didn't show up in any thread in the top section.

What am I missing in this "new" arrangement ?

Any help appreciated.

Use the F5 button whenever you sign on, or right-click on the top part and choose Check for Updates.

Gengsta, thanks for the reply.

I did the "Check for Updates" thing and it refreshed the upper section but there are still just 15 threads there.

It used to be that all threads were there. Now, for example, this thread only shows up if I get to (and hit) the "Back to Message board" link.

Doesn't seem right somehow, and not as convient.

got the newest version? 1.02a177
It shouldn't be the problem because I would think that SDC should auto-update itself.

Unless... Try Refresh Application Data lately? Not much else I can think of.

Yep; 1.02a.177 build 18 and I already tried the "Refresh App Data" to no noticible effect.

Weirdest symptoms I've seen in the SDC which until the last build has been running flawlessly.

Thanks again. Maybe one of the "Tech" guys (or gals) can give me a hint. ;)

Elrikk-

I've also had the same error you are having. Any help on this would be appreciated. It's a bit annoying to open a new browser to check the threads when by all accounts SDC should do it.

Check out the unfortunately-titled thread "I can't believe this crap" on the main page. Somebody else is having a similar problem; you may find some help there.

Although GalCiv + Stardock + Drengin.net + Metaverse is a unique and refreshing way to enhance a single-player game, getting everything to work together is a bit of a challenge. I for one would have appreciated a list of bullet points guiding the user through the various registrations. :notsure:
