Second life 3D worlds

I haven't downloaded it yet, you a 7 day trial but you have to give your credit card info. It looks cool. I was really more into Active Worlds but this Second Life thing looks hot.

Anybody tried it yet?

Gawd....time-share is bad enough...but this is 'virtual' time-share....how to waste your money at another's profit....spend it on something worthwhile instead...

So many news articles on it as something to watch... I thought it was cool, but the "suck me in by using a credit card trial" made it seem sort of fishy.

I'll stick with Active Worlds 3D
