How Bad Have You Got It?

Back in the good ole days when Nascar was full of bad vices...born out of good ole boys running moonshine.....sponsored by a company that made cigarettes.....Oh and the Winston Cup girls Back before a cellphone company became the major sponsor, installed a playoff system, like some majoring sporting event and obliterated the Winston name, There was a series of funny commercials about "How Bad Have You Got It?"

On the way home from work today, I'm sitting in my pickup at a redlight, yes there are small pockets of civilization in New Hampshire that have tarmac roads and traffic lights, it's not all mountains and woods and rednecks with pickup trucks, though I live in the backwoods and tend to be among the later , and I'm listening to Rush, er not the group, but the talkradio fella on the AM dial, and I'm staring at the buttons and wondering how they would look in a WB skin and I'm looking at the dark clear plastic face plate wondering how I could recreate that effect in PSP.

How bad have you got that skinning bug?
.....or have I spent too many Sundays drinking beers, cheering on Little E and Smoke (Dale Earnhardt Jr and Tony Stewart) and shouting terrible things at the TV about Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson, and I have lost all perspective on life and now will await for feline and Fuzzy to suit me up in one of those jackets with many straps to keep me from poking myself in the eye again.

- I took an icon set that was well off by itself and painted hot rod flames all over it.

- I'm trying real hard to stop myself from taking the same set (with all things the same would rather be left alone), turning it into wood and calling it My Woody.

- I get giddy with excitement whenever one of my skins gets a new comment

- My wife and kids have come to the conclusion that I've lost my mind and they constantly get angry when they can't find the start button.

I have a really good job. Outstanding pay, great work environment, etc.
I have put all that in Jeopardy since I started skinning. Not because I screw up but because I just don't care about my work anymore. Here I am sitting with some clients reviewing plans of their new mansion and all I am thinking is, I could do a "architectural plan" theme that would be pretty cool. The start panel could look like this, the buttons like this, etc. Then they ask me a question and I have no clue what they said.
The reality of the matter is that I skin for fun and the satisfaction of creating something I like. I am not gonna put food on the table as a skinner. As soon as skinning becomes a responsibilty it will no longer be fun. Therefore it will remain a hobby. I just have to get it off my mind! Unfortunately that is not going to happen anytime soon.

Funny story... I'm sitting at the theatre with my girlfriend(making out of course) and she gave me a compliment out of nowhere, and then sat there waiting for me to compliment her back, and all I could think about was how she would look on the start menu...

If that keeps up I'll be single in no time.

I hear that Pictoratus. I havent been doing this that long and already I look at cars, lights, leafs and almost everything in view and think about seeing it in a skin and what the buttons should look like.

My wife actually thought I had an online girlfriend!!! I tried showing her the skins I have been making and I still dont think she believes me.

Gee, maybe I should get me one!!!!

I've started to skin my Sony-Ericsson T630 too, can't get enough of skinning.

Though once I've completed something after working hard on it for a while I need to step down a couple of days and do something completely different. It's like it's bottled up inside.

If she understands that DWatson, that's a good compliment , and I don't think you'll be single if she does
