Whatever happened to 2d design?

Everything I see on this site seem 3d...What happened to 2d artwork? Which of the two, 2d or 3d artists, make more money these days? Thanks. Hope I made myself clear.

Also, for an indepth look at what is actually 2D and what is 3D, and how they are represented in a 4D word, check out this https://www.wincustomize.com/msgboard.asp?BID=WC&id=266246#286806

I would think that most submissions to WC are 2d, contributing to a veritable cornucopia of work

Most stuff is 2d, however, my personal taste is to create 2d art with a 3d look. Its just the best thing on earth to push pixels and see what you can create...

I'm the same Styl, I find it very satisfying creating something in photoshop that has a "real" feel to it

Check my desktop image. This is the stuff I am talking about. The wall image isn't mine but is a piece of my client. The task for me was (and is) to create a WB skin to go with it. just the basic design if anyone wonders...
