Looking for a Skin I lost in a reformat

I lost a fave skin! Sorry if this isn't posted in the right place but I'm new and still don't know my way around here.

I downloaded a gorgeous skin last year and it because sort of like those ole fave levi's or comfy slippers...lol. It was a Lavendar metallic, fairly straight up design, nothing too fancy, with the taskbar buttons turning a lime green jelly colour when active. Made it real easy to see what was what. Not everyone cup of tea probably but it was a fave of mine. I don't remember who made it but it was along the same sort of lines as the XP Copper skin.

Does anyone know where I can get that?

Also....when downloading skins from the site, they download and install directly. Problem is, I don't know where to pick them out for a backup save. That's how I lost this fave in the first place. I use XP Pro. Anyone give me a clue where to find the downloaded skins please? I don't get a choice...just says...downloading to temp file and of course once it's installed it's gone from the temp (I think! lol).

Can you be a lil' bit more descriptive about the skin? I'm sure someone will be able to find it for you...


As to the 2nd question, you can find all your skins in:

C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\Windowblinds\skin name here

That's the default, might be a different on yours, but each skin will have a folder of its own, just copy/paste them to make backups...

Likewise, you will have to copy and paste them back into the folder if you restore them. Otherwise you would have to save the .wba file to have the skin self-install.

I dunno if MetalX fits that description very well...I can't even think of any lavendar metallic skins...

Best way to DL anything is to right-click and save-as....then put downloads in a folder cleverly called 'downloads'...[ ] .....then you can install them from there.....and they remain in that folder as well so you can archive them, whatever...

YAY! Whoo Hoo! You found it, you found it! I'm so pleased. Goodmorphing the one you found IS IT. Nice work! I did a quick search and found the download for it too. Not too shabby for a newbie...lol.

Thank you everyone for your quick responses. I had a look through boXXi's library and snagged several...wow...they are good!

Also, my apologies for sounding like a compete dumbo about the saving/backing up thing. Bigtime DUH! I always right click on everything else but for some darn reason didn't here! Mystery solved. Thank you admin for the heads up.
